4/7/2023 0 Comments Breville fast slow pro timerThe food in the Pro was great as well, but personally if you’re looking at getting a multi cooker and tossing up between the Pro and the Go. Haven’t had this issue with the Go model.Īll in all, the food I can cook in the GO model is amazing. Meaning I’d have to open it and lose all my heat I’d built up. I would often have trouble getting the lid to seal on the Pro. But what’s the fun in that (and safety) when you can push a button and keep your hand away from the hot steam. Ultimately, you can just manually use your human hand and flick the pressure valve to the side all the way. This was only an issue when I had changed from a programmed natural pressure release at the start. Therefore not letting all the pressure out. On the Pro model, after finishing cooking, if you pressed the “release” button it would only let pressure out for 30 seconds, then snap the pressure release closed again. Pro model doesn’t have the Sous Vide option. On the Go model, they’ve fixed this issue and it no longer allows you to spin into the lock position while the lid is open. When the lid on the Pro is open you can accidentally spin it to locked mode, meaning when you go to close the lid it locks up and won’t let you close it. No spinning here and spinning there to get the mode you need. The LCD screen is more visually pleasing in my opinion than the button-heavy interface of the Go, but the Go is actually easier to use. It has very cheap feeling knobs on the front when you spin them. You also won’t have any issues with peeling of the non-stick coating 6 months down the track. I found it’s easier to clean and you can be a bit more rough with your scraping in it. Read more The Go model has a stainless bowl. It clings to any food smells and you cannot wash a strong curry smell off.Īlso because it’s black it’s easy to accidentally dump oil in to the unit and forget to put the bowl in. It’s only about $30 more and I got mine price matched at Good Guys to Appliances Online.īelow I will compare some of my gripes about the Pro model, and let you know why the Go model is better IMO If you’re tossing up between the Pro and the Go mode…Go with the Go. I then began calling every online store I could think of and I tracked down the the Good Guys who I originally purchased from, thankfully they gave me a full refund. Really disappointed Breville :(įollow up: Returned to Myer and received full refund, was then able to purchase a Phillips Slow Cooker. Surely if you're receiving a replacement product the 12 month warranty should restart as it does with other electrical products I have. Read more he original purchase date, meaning in 9 months time if it happens again I'm out of options. Serves me right! tonight the new one did exactly the same thing, this time I am armed with the receipt so will be returning to Myer this week, however it worries me that even when replaced they will only use t. After hunting high and low for the receipt and unfortunately coming up empty handed I made the foolish mistake of purchasing another. then early 2022 I sautéed some onions and mince, added the rest and turned to slow cook, when I came back to check it in an hour all I had was a luke warm bowl. I first purchased back in mid 2021, loved it. I've uploaded a photo of the inner pot showing how the ceramic coating degrades. We were eventually forced to abandon the Breville in favour of rather brand with a quality stainless steel inner pot that we can clean in the dishwasher and is healthier of course. It's very disappointing as this unit was not cheap at the time. We replaced it, but that one didn't last long either before we could see aluminium and which would corrode further between uses! The pot is just poor quality and a health hazard of course. The coating started to break down after only a year or so. Read moreīut the worst feature of this appliance is the inner pot which is made of thin aluminium and coated with some kind of ceramic. We always had to release steam by carefully lifting the steam release valve with a thick cloth to prevent burns. Sometimes, jiggling the lid back and forth helped to create a seal.Īnother issue was the automatic steam release only worked for the first few months before it failed to work completely. When it fails to seal, we had to turn off the machine and let it cool a bit before trying again. We always had some trouble getting the lid to seal properly and a new gasket seal didn't help at all. We bought our Breville BPR700 about 6 years ago.
